Gabe's Response to Isa's Reaction

I agree with Isa and I find Amir and Hassan to be very interesting, multidimensional characters that are hard to classify.  I think that class difference definitely has a part in Amir’s mistreatment of Hassan, especially considering that Hassan often receives the praise from Baba that Amir so desperately seeks. However, ultimately I attribute Amir’s meanness to his father. Amir must unnaturally pretend to be powerful and in control by sometimes picking on Hassan. Amir must do this because the alpha-male attitude his father exemplifies is completely foreign to Amir but he attempts to mimic it for his father’s approval. I also find Rahim Khan interesting and I would like more instances where he shows up even if it is just to offer advice or encouragement. Considering the rape scene that Amir witnessed and is probably going to haunt him for decades, it feels only right that someone offers advice or counseling to Amir. I agree, The rape scene was truly shocking  and It seemed wrong that it happened to someone as loyal and kindhearted as Hassan.
